ok so here is my setup:
306 shortblock
gtp heads: 1.94" intake 1.54" exhaust springs good to .550 lift
e303 cam
gt-40 upper and lower
70mm t-body/egr spacer
in fender cold air
full exhaust
stock timing

problem: car seems to be running really rich, when it revs to 4k rpm or so
it bogs out..not like its got detonation it feels almost like hitting a rev limiter.
will not go past 4k rpm
everything on the car has been replace except the MAF and Distributor, and i think
thats about it. Im wondering if the maf may be messing up causing the car to
run to rich and basically flood the cylinders at higher rpm??? any ideas? im open to any and all suggestions

Any check engine light appearing? Personally I'd bump timing to at least 14 deg advanced for starters, higher if it doesn't ping. Gently clean the two maf elements with electronics cleaner and then clock the MAF. New ACT/IAT/o2's wouldn't hurt either.

My 93 did that once ended up beeing a dirty MAF. Would run great with it would run fine with it unpluged. I would just try to clean it and yea mine never triped the check engine light.

A bad coil or plat spark plugs can also cause a 4K RPM cut-out. When TFI's are in the early stages of failing, they often allow a 4K cut-out as well.

Good luck.

i'm with hissin, i had problems (felt like rev limiter at 3-4K) turned out to be a bad coil. i have also had problems with distributors causing funny issues.

i would start out trying a new coil and TFI module and see how it does. if no luck or still has a problem, try a different/new dizzy.
