Well I have had this problem intermittently for a while. What happens is I will be driving normal and then all of sudden from when I accelerate the car begins to stutter. If I floor it, the car smooths out but feels down on power. The air/fuel gauge then pegs at rich for the rest of the time you drive it and then randomly next time or two when you drive it it will seem normal. Any ideas?????

My car was doing exactly the same thing, and I found that my denscharger was not seated correctly on my throttle body. Some air was by-passing the MAF sensor and going into the engine.

Unmetered air would cause a lean condition. Have you checked the O2 sensors? It sounds like it's stuck in open loop after you floor it. Have you checked the TPS voltage? I'm wondering if your TPS is shot and sending a high voltage after you get on it? Just guesses here....

No check engine light??? It almost sounds like it's going into "limp" mode due to some kind of problem.
