i just got my car back together after having to take the heads off to get my broken spark plugs out, now it barely starts up. It runs like crap(misses) for a couple seconds then backfires and dies. it has brisk racing plugs @.045
i did it myself and i lined up the marks on the cams and crank, with the marks on the chain links. think it could be anything else? could this be a spark problem? the coils were sitting on my garage floor for almost 4 months..maybe i broke some.
I started it up again, and reved it up a few times. The check engine light came on and gave me 2 codes.
P0345 Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit (Bank 2)
and
P0349 Generic Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Intermittent (Bank 2)
I dont know what this means, can someone help me out?
Sounds like the cams are out of time. It's real easy to do even when you mark the parts properly. Double check all of your wire connections and then check again.
the sensor was plugged in. should the chains both be aligned with the L or the I or should one be on L and one on I? Im just going to take it apart and do it over, i guess i screwed up something the first time.
hope you figure it out, if you messed up the first time you'll have a hard time finding the correct starting point. you probably already know this but these motors are interference motors and you have the potential for valve damage if the timing is too far off.
