hello i just got a 99 gt and was driving when i noticed when driving
at a lower rpm such as 4th gear at 40mph and you step on the gas more than about halfway i could feel that one of the cylinders was
not that strong, the car would kinda jerk through acceleration. after a
couple days of driving my SES light came on.

i went to auto zone (i dont shop there i was just driving by) and we hooked up the scanner to it and it said cylinder 5 misfire. i asked the guy for the firing order so i can take care of "cylinder 5 misfire". he told me if i stood in front of the car it would be the FRONT RIGHT cylinder. but then another guy told me front left.

i just dont know where the hell the 5th one is. if someone knows which cylinder is the 5th i would greatly greatly appreciate it. thanks

marc

change plugs , erase code , drive it , if it comes back , check code again , if its the same one , replace that coil which it is probably the coil anyway , but plugs are cheap enough to try first just incase .

have you ever washed your engine at the car wash? i had similar problem. i waited until dark and looked under the hood, i had a bad spark plug wire that was sparking against the block thus causing a misfire. i was told it was due to spraying my engine at the car wash. try changing your wires.

I have the same problem with my 99 engine. Remove the number 5 plug wire and check to see if the plug is swimming in coolant. If so, it may be time to head to the dealer for an intake swap (under recall) for the updated intake with aluminum crossover.

If there is no liquid, I would definitely change the plugs and possibly the coils to see if that cures it.
