My e-brake cable broke, and when it did the spring on the e-brake handle came unwound. Does anyone know of a site that has explicit instuctions/pics on how to set the spring properly?? Or does anyone have pics and able to give detail instructions from personal experience?? Thanks in advance

mine broke about 6 mos ago. it wasn't too hard to do. you don;t have to pull the whole consol out, only the bottom of the arm rest and you may have to drop the drive shaft depending or you clearence it only took me a couple of times rewinding the spring before i finially got it right
you can do it good luck

FYI: Go to the dealer and get the Ebrake cable. Don't order from Summit and other places like that because they are not the correct cable for our cars. So save yourself some trouble if you have not gotten the cable yet.

Also, I have step by step instructions at home. I will post when I get home. But a small tip now though is you will need a nail (I used a finish nail) to slip into the hole on the side of the spring to keep it in place once you rewind it. The nail or whatever you use needs to be small enough so you can slip the console back on and be able to pull it out.

Again, if you have not started and can wait 'til tonight I will post the step by step instructions. Let me know.
