Help from anyone who has installed a Fan Controller (Hayden)

My car is getting a touch warmer than I'd like for it to....~210.

I hooked up a brand new Hayden fan controller about a month ago but I dont believe that it is working.

Anyone familiar with these, please look at these pictures and tell me if it is hooked up correctly....

Power to battery:

Ignition On/Off:
Connected to middle wire going to the overflow bottle

Wire to fan:
Connected to low speed wire in fan harness

Wire for second fan if available:
Just tie wrapped it and set it aside

Any help/direction/advice would be very appreciated!

man i would think you would get your temp rating signal off of the ECT on the ahrd coolant lines, and not off of the overflow, is that what the directions said? Also was wondering why you tapped it into the low speed on the fan, and not the high speed

The wire to the coolant line is only a line to turn the controller on/off with the ignition. I heard that one of those wires was right there so I tapped into it. I couldnt find one anywhere else.

I tapped into the low speed cuz I didnt want to wire a larger relay into it and I didnt want to burn up the fan motor quicker. All I needed was for the low speed fan to come on anyways.

I dont know if this is any help or not but i bought my car with a fan controller already on it, and all the wiring is directly into the ecu wires nothing goes into the engine bay...brian

I installed dual e-fans in my truck last year and it looks like you have a similar controller.

Are you using a manual switch to turn the fan on/off? Or does it use temp probes to turn the fan on/off?

When you taped into the fan harness at the fan did you cut the low speed and splice in the orange like in the pic I attached?

Did you connect the A/C wire? It turns on the fan ever the A/C is turned on.

Saltwaterfish....It is an adjustable controller that probes into the radiator. Also, that is exactly how I tapped into the fan harness. I tapped the orange into the low speed wire.

Oh yeah, I am not using anything to manipulate the fan other than this controller which I cannot get to work.

Checking to see if you have fixed your fan problem. Here are some other ideas if you haven't.

For the switched power (yellow) I would run it to the fuse box on the drivers side instead of using the low coolant wires.

Make sure you have a good ground (to the frame rail) for the black wire.

What size of fuse did you put in line with the orange wire? Mine came with a 20 amp. Throw that one out, get a 30 amp. If it pops then go with a manual reseting metal 40 amp fuse from the auto store.

Last, turn the pot on the controller to the left about a 1/4 turn. This will lower the turn on temp. Once it turns on you can adjust it back up.
