ok i have had a small leak wher ethe filler neck goe into he tank. I think whatever gasket is there must have dry rotted over time form never having much gas in it or something else weird caused this.

Well my mom wante dto give me a tank of gas and I was hesitant but filled away. as i reached about 13 gallons, gas just starts pouring on the ground from the tannk. that rubber seal is just hanging by about an inch of contact down there and if i pull teh neck away from the tank it wil pretty much stop the leak. my question is where do i get this gasket and how the hell does it go on. :bang:

I am going to RVT the $h!T out of it once it stops leaking and drys. for a temporary solution.

It is the filler neck gasket. Your filler neck just slides into that rubber grommet (gasket).
You must empty the tank and drop it ,then pull that neck out.
After you get the neck out carefully pull the old gasket off not getting any debris in the tank. The new one pops right in and you can get it from the dealer for $17 or so.
Might as well upgrade the pump while you've got the tank down if you have not upgraded to a 255 already.
Dropping an empty tank takes about 10 minutes.
Don't fill your tank more than 1/2 or 6 gallons or so and you should be fine w/o it leaking until you get it done. Black RTV only last for awhile until the gas eats through.

I was just going to ask if you had replaced/upgraded your fuel pump lately? Same thing happened when i swapped a new pump in. Its crazy how ford can rip you off like that by charging you 17 bucks for that gasket.. (Others have said that they paid like 5 at their local dealer but i wasn't that lucky)

yes i have stock fuel pump.

it just staretd doing it.

I never put more than 6 gallons in because.

1. i am a racer
2. it leaks

my mother wanted to hook me up with a full tank to be nic and look what happend

I dunno if i beed a 255 thats a little big.

but i do need one for the heads cam and bottle that are about to go on. pretty much whatever is available.

255 lph is to big IMO. I ran 100 shot n2o with stock motor and pump for awhile until the pump died. I replaced with a 255 and the car responded so much better and was not starving top end for fuel.

I wish they wouldn't even sell anything besides 255.. 255 should come stock far as im concerned. Just save the hassle later on and buy a 255. Unless your one of those people that get to a point and say, "oh this is just the right amount of power." (you own a mustang so that should rule out that idea)

actually i have seen problems with too big. where the fuel pressure had to be turned way down to achieve the same a/f. but whatever

thast probably the only thing that will be available.

I also have the accufab billet intake pickup to puton if i want but i think thats if your running only inline

255 regular or hiflo.....

when you drop the tank have a friend help you out, it will be alot easyer. Myself and another friend just droped my tank to replace my fuel pump and even on an empty tank, I mean empty it still would have been difficult w/ out 2 people.
