I was re-gapping my sparkplugs on my lunch break at work...

I accidentally cracked the porcelain part of one of the plugs. So about 1mm of the top art of the porcelain broke clear off. all of the metal is good though.

Can I drive it safely like this until I hit a car store?

It might be ok for a short trip...I would replace the spark plug as soon as I can.

I'm only a few miles away from the store... but I don't want to risk damaging the car.

It would be okay for a few miles?
Btw, I *should* keep the broken plug in ???

It will not damage the car, but there is a definate possiblity that there will be a dead cylinder. It is quieter to leave the plug in. It will be noisy as can be with the plug out.
