HELP!! PLEASE I THINK I GOT A TRANNY PROBLEM

Hi, a friend of mine just bought a 04 mach 1 and he was driving it with me last night and we got on a straight road just to test the car after his exhaust mods and he was a stop and dumped the clutch at about 2500 rpms, the car shifted from 1 to 2 fine but would not find 3rd, thus he reacted by putting in the clutch and leaving it in neutral. When the car came to a stop it would not go into any gear whatever. The car was then turned off and tried to restarted and yes the clutch was in and the car was into neutral. The car wouldn't start. WE tried several times and it eventual started but would not go into gear smoothly. Eventually the car went into 1st gear and was able to be shifted into 2nd and taken home not to far nearby. From what i have described, do any of you have any idea of what the problem might be? PLEASE HELP, as we are extremely worred.

Was there any grinding, or did it just feel like it was hitting a brick wall.Maybe you bent something in the shifter, but the trans should be ok because it has internal stops in it.Did he just SLAM it into second like VERY hard or just normal speed shifting, and how big is this guy, if he is small I dont think he could hurt anything, but if he is like 200+ and very strong, then he may have.I dont know how tough the stock shifter is, but it is a possability. On a side note, I bet first gear was useless huh LOL and second too for that matter, I bet both just went up in smoke LOL.

He more than likely bent a fork. It is a tremec 3650 though it has internal stop if you have actually looked at them they are p[owdered metel and they are very weak. I am taking it that he doesn't have a short throw shifter with adj. stops. it is also possible that he bent a shift linkage also. Since it has a warranty then take it back to the dealership and get a new one. also tell him to buy a short throw shifter so that this won't happen any more because I went through 2 transmissions because I didn't want to for out the cash for a shifter.
