Ok so I need help identifying what these loose connections are. These come out of the passenger side firewall.

1st - 3 wire connector has 2 white/blue stripe wires and 1 green/black strip wire.

2nd - 4 wires just hanging loose with crimp connectors on them. Obviously someone cut these and added the connectors. 1 pair red and green/black stripe the other pair red and white/red stripe

3rd - a black 2 wire connector black/green stripe wire and red wire

The above 3 all come out of the passenger firewall. I found these while trying to find the original wiring for the alternator. This car is running a 1 wire alternator and the amp/battery light is always on.

Bonus - last pic is of the connection at the distributer. It is a MSD distributer. The connector has a weird jumper spliced into it. Any idea on what this is and why? This plastic jumper is inline with the yellow/green stripe wire at the distributor connector.

Any and all help is always greatly appreciated!!

What year is the car?

The 4th pic appears to be your SPOUT connector (Spark Out), which some one must have relocated.

Sorry I can't be of more help. I will say the second pic does not appear to be Ford connectors.

Are you able to trace these wires to the other end?

So the first pic I’ve heard AC from several mustang experts.

And the SPOUT in the last pic.

2nd pic could be TAD/TAB connectors according to one member.

The 3rd pic of the black connector is a mystery.

The entire bundle is encased in a crap ton of electrical tape the original owner wrapped it in. I may end up having to unwind it to physically trace it. I could try a continuity test back to the ecm if I can see the same colored wires there. I also could cross reference the pinout for an A9L.

My car is an 87 4cyl to 5.0 mass air conversion. Previous owner hacked the harness to oblivion. I was trying to locate the original alternator wiring because it’s running a single wire alternator and has the amp light lit at the cluster. Trying to turn this off and think it’s wired incorrectly.

I feel your pain. The harness on my 95 was hacked up really bad. I'm in process of replacing it with a Pro M harness and PCM.

All I could find about the 2nd picture was this on ChatGpt:

The Ford part number E7DB-14603-F refers to an OEM wiring harness. Based on the part number format:

• E7: Indicates the year of design or introduction, which is 1987.

• DB: Refers to the specific vehicle line, typically related to the Mustang for this harness.

• 14603: Represents the base part number, indicating it’s part of the wiring or electrical system.

• F: Designates a specific revision or variation of the part.

Typical Application:

This harness is likely from a 1987 Ford Mustang, possibly for a specific sub-system such as the engine bay, interior wiring, or tail lights. Its application may vary depending on whether it is for a 5.0L engine, GT trim, or another configuration.

I’m pretty sure that the 2nd and 3rd pictures are going to be EGR related based off the colors of the wires. If you clean the wires in the third picture I’m betting they are green and red. I’m thinking it’s the plug in the upper right in this picture.
