Electrical Help Identify wires/connections engine bay passenger side firewall (unused)

The entire bundle is encased in a crap ton of electrical tape the original owner wrapped it in. I may end up having to unwind it to physically trace it. I could try a continuity test back to the ecm if I can see the same colored wires there. I also could cross reference the pinout for an A9L.

My car is an 87 4cyl to 5.0 mass air conversion. Previous owner hacked the harness to oblivion. I was trying to locate the original alternator wiring because it’s running a single wire alternator and has the amp light lit at the cluster. Trying to turn this off and think it’s wired incorrectly.

1st - 3 wire connector has 2 white/blue stripe wires and 1 green/black strip wire.


2nd - 4 wires just hanging loose with crimp connectors on them. Obviously someone cut these and added the connectors. 1 pair red and green/black stripe the other pair red and white/red stripe


3rd - a black 2 wire connector black/green stripe wire and red wire



The above 3 all come out of the passenger firewall. I found these while trying to find the original wiring for the alternator. This car is running a 1 wire alternator and the amp/battery light is always on.

Bonus - last pic is of the connection at the distributer. It is a MSD distributer. The connector has a weird jumper spliced into it. Any idea on what this is and why? This plastic jumper is inline with the yellow/green stripe wire at the distributor connector.
