help identifying this 9" axle as a mustang unit

I found this axle for sale for $100 and its about a 2hr drive away from me. The guy measured the housing width and the distance between the leaf spring perches. The housing width is 54" and the distance between the perches is 43" Could you guys help identify what this thing came from?

Looks like an 8" to me. The 9" center is more round. The 8" is oval. Dont know year etc but definitely thinking it's an 8"

That is definitely an 8" and probably a '67-70. I have one laying out in the yard.

I was thinking from the same years. I have a 69 in my garage now. I decided to go with a versailles 9" though.

Ditto, definately an 8" rear.
