Help ID'ing my 8" axle - tag is missing

I picked up an 8" rear axle yesterday to use in my 1966 Mustang. I pulled it out of a Maverick, but stupid me forgot to check the year of the car. The ID tag is missing and I can't find any numbers stamped into the housing.

I believe the carrier has been changed since the part number off it reads C7OW 4205 A 15, which comes out to a 67 Fairlane. It also has 4.20:1 gears, which I know Mavericks didn't come with.

I need to buy new brakes, bearings, seals, gaskets, etc and need to know what year it's from. I guess I could run back and try to find a tag on the car, but is there any way to figure it out from the axle housing?

I can provide pics to help ID.

Are you talking about the axles (themselves),or the whole rearend housing? If so, the bearings are, typically, stamped with the ID number. Being a Maverick, it's most likely the small bearing version. Any of the rear gear houses can help with this. Not really tough to determine.
Good Luck!
This may help.
