Help me beat my dad's Mach1!

I just recently purchased a Bullitt in April of this year. I have been pretty satisfied with the power in the car, considering its a SOHC motor. I have had Flowmaster 3 chanbers, full densecharger with 95mm Pro-M, and next will be 3.73 gears.

Now, my father. He recently purchased a 2003 Mach 1, low miles bone stock motor, with 3.73s already put in. I recently drove the car, and wow... I do not know if it is the two extra cams or the gears or a combination of the two but oh baby!

Here is where I need YOU! I want to be able to smoke his butt, but these cars go 13.1 ish stock. With gears probably about 12.9-13.0. He is not a bad driver , but neither am I. Anyone beat this type combo, and if so what were you running. I want to stay N/A lets make power the old fashioned way, tell me what I'm gonna need to say seeeeeyaaaaaa.

Yeah, the Mach is fast stock...but it can be beaten.

Cheapest way would be to use like a 100-125 shot of nitrous.

Or, you could get gears, suspension, cams, longtube headers, off-road mid-pipe, drag radials, port and polish you heads, etc.

Or, you could always add boost :D

If you want to beat him, i'd consider some sticky tires for the back. But some 17x9 bullitt replicas with nitto 275/40/17 555r's. Get an X pipe (catted if you want it to sound good with the flows. Then upper/lower control arms for traction as well. If you can take him off the line while he's spinning some, you've got a chance.

Gunna need more than sticky tires, control arms and an Xpipe to do it.. Might be able to take him off the line well, but the lead won't last the quarter mile..

A mach1 will not run 13.1 stock, maybe with the 3.73's and DR's.
Get some LT's, a Anderson power pipe, cams and 4.10's, and DR's.

It won't? Thats like saying a stock GT won't run a 13.9.. There are many Machs at the Mach1registry that have run low 13's. I myself ran a 13.2 @ 106 MPH BONE stock with jack and spare in car.

Ever heard of the Cold War? You will spend a fortune trying to beat him, and then all he needs is one little mod and you are looking at his tail lights again. Spray or add a blower or just be satisfied with bracket racing. Let him give you a handicap and see who the best driver is.

I find it odd that he switched the gears in the mach 1 to 3.73's, they have 3.55's stock right....whats the point of such a small change?

the gears were already in there when he purchased it. It only has about 6000 miles. Oh yeah and Im lookin at the m&ff issue April 04 Mach 1 best et. 13.156 @105.35. I know they tweak the cars in these articles. There is even a picture of one of the testers loading the air box with ice......Ive done that too. Im gonna get there N/A plenty of bullitts are in the 12s just might take some time......and money. :bang:
