yeah, the bare TB is only like 75 bucks or so. also, i'm pretty sure this unit was originally used on the old GMC motor homes as OE equipment on the Cad motor that opwered those things.

You are correct bnickel, it was originally designed for motorhomes etc and was an EPA certified system. Unfortunately the whole system was fairly primitive and usually undersized for the application. The product didn't sell well and accell was left with alot of surplus parts...hence this throttle body for $75. There are no more being produced.. just some guys who purchased all of the surplus TB's.

I also looked at the autonomics throttle body. BUT $75 only gets you the bare throttle body. Buy the time you pay for the fuel injectors, fuel rails, fuel pressure regulator, Idle air control, get it modified for a TPS, etc... the price quickly adds up.

I haven't seen anything cheaper that complete.

So figure about another $150 for injectors (only 4 of them).
It's still a good option no doubt. But like I said... I got my holley 900cfm TBI (I beleive these only flow 700cfm unless you pay more to have them machined) for $340. Might not have been new from the store, but it looked brand new when I took it apart.

My only concern with these TB's is the parts availability. If you need to replace the throttle shaft/bushings you can't get parts without buying a whole new TB. True they are only $75 but there are no more being produced...in a couple of years you'll only be able to buy them used.

Does the Holley TB have provisions for injectors?
If I have to convert my intake to multiport, I could just make a plenum and bolt a couple junkyard TB's on it.

Could you send me some info for this throttle body?

I do not know if you are dead set on tbi, but since your in Texas you might check with Morillo Motorsports in San Antonio. The last time I talked to them they had several good used ecm's and you could even have them tune your car there on there dino after installing it. It's just another thought. Unless you are on a super tight budget, I see would be the only reason not to consider a FAST system. It truly is simple. And not 100% sure of it, but would be more versatile in the long run.
