This mostly happens when I'm braking and coming to a stop... if I'm go at like 2-3mph and then push on the brakes hard, it makes a funky pop noise.
Sometimes if I pump the brakes mutiple times at 10mph ish it pops every time. *strange part* It definitely does it more when it's hot outside
It ALSO does it when just going over bumps. I don't think it does it while turning though.
I'm not trying to make it sound like it's a brake problem, but that's the best way to jerk the car around to make it pop. Driving over rail-road tracks does it to. pop pop.
It has done this since I first bought the car like two years ago. Since then it has new motor mounts, tie-rod ends, ball joints, LCA/swaybar bushings, C/C plates , springs/struts/shocks even the rotors/pads/calipers have been replaced... basically everything I can think of that could be related.

Anybody have any clues as to what it could be?

i know what you mean. i use to have the same problem. i had my mechanic tighten every nut and bolt in my front end. the funny thing was for the next 2 weeks after it still would do it. just not as often. then it just went away.

one thing i do notice is on real cold days. my suspension is really noise.
i think the root of the problem has to be all of the bushings in the suspension. our cars are now like 9 yrs old. so 9 yrs on those rubber bushings have taken there toll. hopefully one day i could aford t ochange all of the bushing to poly. but i also heard that poly. bushings make alot of noise when its cold out. :bang: so i guess its on of those thing we stang owners have to deal with. :(

Check 2 things. First tighten the crap out of your K-member brace. 2nd, check the strut tops to make sure the nuts are tight. If this doesn't fix it, check the spherical bearings in the CC plates. They may have given up the ghost.

I've got the Pro3i c/c plates... but it was doing it prior to installing them so I'm ruling them out for now ...
I'll check the K-Member brace nect time she's I've got her jacked up.. now where did I put my breaker bar?

I checked the nuts on the struts ... they're on there good. :)

I'm just kind of surprised it still does it after practically replacing the entire front suspension. I know it's coming from up front somewhere...

Tighten the bolts for the brace that is under the oil pan and runs to the front of the rocker panel. I had a popping noise and the bolts were tight but when the chassis flexed they popped. I used a torque wrench on all of the bolts and fixed my problem.
