noticed slack in my front end. loooked under it today just by accident and this is what I saw. is this the A-arm? the nut is gone, where can I find one? can you get one to work like at lowes or any know part stores?

Don't drive that car!

I don't know if you can find the nut (is it a Grade 8?) at Lowe's but, for sure, your Ford parts counter guy can fix you up.
Do you have a Haynes manual? It has the torque specs for almost all fasteners on the car. The manual is only 20 bucks and it has a ton of good info in it.

I took the drivers side nut off and went to lowes,autozone,several mom and pop hardware stores and finally found one at a junk yard. ty for response though was worried I wouldnt have a ride to work due to these type of things arnt found at just any place.

Glad you found it at a junkyard. You wont find that bad boy at a regular place, you would need to go to a fastener shop. If you need to torque spec for that nut let me know.

Just for reference, it can't be grade 8 because it is metric. They have a different system for fastener hardness.

You have to torque the living out of control arm bolts.

OK, thanks for the clarification. I figured Grade 8 applied to standard and metric but it doesn't surprise me that it doesn't. Why, oh, why can't other people be like us (and use standard fasteners)?

the bolt had either a 10 or 01 written on it not shure what that means.

It was probably 10.0. Might have just said 10. That is the hardness of the bolt.
