Help me ID this engine and heads

Just bought a 67 coupe, the car was a C code (289) but in the 80s it was pulled and according to the previous owner, the owner before him put in a 1984 302.

Where do I look on the block to find the ID numbers. The same question goes for the heads too, where do I look on those?

The head casting number will be on the bottom near the pushrod journals unless it is an early 289 head or FE head. All Ford block casting numbers are on the passenger side normally near or behind the starter. Ford makes it easy to read the casting numbers since each position/character represents a unique piece of data. You should see approximately E4AE-7826-A if it's a 1984. The 1967 will be something close to C7AE-7807-A.
