Ok my car didnt have one from the factory, someone put an aftermarket one on my car. Its hinges are real loose and i cant find a way to tighten em up.

And the car LEAKS bad when it rains, last week my car got the moldy smell, every day it rained my seats were soaked.

Whats the best way to seal it up?? I was thinking using some silicone??

seal it up like a windshield--just like you said. Windshield silicone all the way around, and be done with it.

My suggestion would be to try and find another sun roof that will fit in the opening and have it professionally installed. Sealing it up with sticky stuff to me, just stinks of one of those "previous owner mods" that make people scratch their heads and say "WTF what that guy thinking???".

Just a thought...

Install a larger sized roof of get new weather stripping... In the interem, Vasoline can be used to stop water leaks around rubber seals while still maintaining proper function of doors / trunks or in this case, sun roofs
