Yea i did. No sense in shortening the pump's life by letting all the trash in. I've got an el cheapo Purolator 30 gal/hr low pressure pump in the Ranger ($25) It's even kept the 3x2 carbed 331 fed. Only times it didn't keep up was when the filter between the tank and pump got clogged. That $25 pump has done it's job now for going on 5 years.

I just have one at the tank outlet,
Nothing gets to the pump to ruin the diaphram.
Stock factory pump feeding a 750 wide open with no problems.

Ok, I'll install a new pump and pre-pump filter (probly tomarrow) and let you guys know how it's going from there.

Thanks,
Tyler

Just got back from working on the mustang. A new fuel pump fixed the problem. I think my original problem was a vacume leak (when the pump was keeping the bowls full) then, the pump got trash in it from the tank as I found and fixed the vacume leak. It runs good now, and never dies. I pull about 17 in. of manifold vacume, and hold about 12 psi of fuel pressure. I know, 12 is kinda high, should be more like 6 psi, But the bowl levels stay right where their supposed to be. My car is fast now, but not fast enough. I think it might have something to do with a 226* duration cam and 3:1 rear gears. I'll be getting 3.73 or 4.11 next (in a 9") thanks for all your help, a special thanks to my main man, D.
