Hey hows it going everyone? Well times passed and still my daily driver fox is having backfire problems. When i bought the car it didn't have any problems. A month later no problems, one day i drive out of the city 30 miles and arrive still no issues BUT on my way back 5 miles in im in 5th gear and pressing on the gas suddenly it feels as if gas wasn't flowing and the car began to backfire. I left off and gave it gass and still it backfired and i had a big losss of power. I gave it gas heavy and it pushed threw and the car ran fine, i parked the car at a gas station turned it off and it started fine and drove home that night.
1 month has passed Since then I've had the same problem every time i take the car out. I can be in any gear 1-5 and it'll backfire an lose power.i have noticed is it happens once the car has warmed up completely. I moved the timing to 10 and it seemed to lesses the backfire but still its accruing. I know my egr is working but does not have a hose running to it. Also my IAC is disconnected because it is bad, when i cold start the car it revs to 3000rpm and i found disconnecting it fixed that and the cat doesn't die with it unplugged.
Car has new plugs, wires, cap and rotar.
Please remember i drove the car for a month before this problem occurred. Only difference is my iac unplugged.
So car backfires loses power and only pulls smoothly when i apply gas.
I do not have a voltmeter to pull codes or the appropriate scanner at the moment so any help would be appreciated very much. Thank you for reading.
