Help, my kid scratched my paint!

depending on the size of the scratch, go to www.paintscratch.com
If that doesnt work, file an insurance claim. My friends horse kicked in his door panel and the insurance company re-painted the whole car (it got the door and rear panel, the car was a 93 so they had to paint to whole thing due to fading/matching) I know my insurance company would be bunches of biznichis about it, but theyd do it eventually.... new paint for 250 or 500 depending on your deductable

i work at a recon shop in a ford dealer.. so i deal with these things everyday, i dont know if you have the available equipment, but take some good compound and buff over the scratch a few times, and then throw a coat of some good wax over, and $10 says the scrath will be gone. if not that, try the insurance company, im dont think a new paint job ever hurt anyone.
I dont know how deep it is but I would try to polish it out first.
If it wont polish out then id try getting some touch up paint. Fill in the scratch and then use this stuff called Lanka. Basically it just scrapes down the touchup paint so its flush. Let it dry, go over it with a buffing compound and then wax it?
I dont know if it will work but its a lot cheaper than making a claim on your insurance for a scratch on one panel... I def. wouldn't want my premium to go up for something like that.

My insurance has never gone up for a non-driving accident, and actually since it was at his house it should fall under homeowners insurance instead of the car rate? I know every state has different laws, but a lot of similarities.
Try the buffing out thing, but I dont think you will be 100% satisfied. A bike falss with a lot of force, and handlebbars twist enough to ensure a painful fall for your paint. I'm guessing it needs touch up paint at the least. I'm 25 and my insurance is 190 a month, it drops when my premium renews next time for the over 25 thing. Its only 30 more dollars a month than I paid on my shadow I wouldnt call it raping, but its still a bit high.
