Help, My rearend is jumping up and down

Hi guys
Ive posted on other sites and I want to get as many opinions as possible
before I start tearing things apart.

I have a 69 Mustang with 302 4sp T10. The car has sat for awhile while I
was restoring it. The problem I have is when I release the clutch pedal the
rear end makes a binding noise and feel like its jumping up and down. This
is at normal RPM and release. Once Im moving the car shifts great.
What Ive done is a resurfaced Flywheel, New Ram presure plate,Clutch and Throwout bearing. Ive also checked the rearend and brakes everything seems good. This was all done 6 years ago. (1) Some Ideas Ive received from others is Replace the Clutch set up with a diaphapm clutch setup. (2)
Check engine mounts and Tranny Mount for cracks or breaks.

Like I said the car has been sitting and Im ready to start driving it again.

Custom title please!
It sounds like you have oil or grease on the clutch/flywheel assembly causing it to grab. Have you driven in the 6 years since the work was done?

sounds like clutch chatter,but check all motor/trans mounts.Probably have some burn spots or oil on the flywheel

I had this problem with my kids' '65 A code 289 and 3-spd stick. It's called clutch chatter. In my case it only arose after the flywheel got heat soaked. That is, the first 20 minutes of operation were fine; after 20 minutes I'd have to pop the clutch and burn rubber to get underway from a standing start.

I started with a resurfacedOE flywheel and used a generic diaphragm clutch from Mustang Plus. I figured the cheapo clutch was to blame and switched to Ram brand diaphragm clutch from NPD. No difference. I switched to a high dollar billet steel flywheel from NPD, problem solved.

My conclusion was the OE flywheel would either warp after it heat soaked, or more likely that it had a "hot spot" from excessive clutch slippage in a previous life. Draw your own conclusions, but I would not expect a swap from a Borg & Beck style pressure plate to a diaphragm pressure plate to make a difference.

If driven a couple of times in the last couple of weeks. Since then the
car hasn't been on the road since 1992. I did the clutch work a 5 years
ago. I thought the clutch chatter would come from the bellhousing area.
This noise and bouncing to me seem like is coming from the rear axle.
Could the clutch binding be coming from the flywheel through the rearend.
I just wanted some opinions before I start to Yank out the transmission.
Ill probably check the mounts first.

Clutch chatter can reach to the rear-end, but it would be more pronounced and noticeable at the bellhousing area.

Is your rear-end sagging really bad? Your shocks and springs would have to be trashed to allow wheel-hop on a normal "launch". But that could be the cause of the rear end chatter.

noise and vibrations might seem like they originate from other places,but i had the same problem you did anfter using a Centerforce clutch.Unless you have some major parts broken in the rear end or driveshaft,i would eliminate those as possible causes,but as some of us have said,we have felt the same "chatter

I have installed new leaf springs, shocks, uderide traction bars and subframe
connectors and I had the problem before and after I installed the the new
parts. Must be with the clutch or flywheel.
