I'm installing new head gaskets. These are Ford graphite #F2TE-6051-CA gaskets. In the front these gaskets cover over two coolant passages from the block to the head. Should I cut the gaskets to match the block and heads or install them as is?
I wonder if the head gaskets you have there are for non-emission legal heads. I know emission legal heads have more holes in them like for air and coolant.
They both have front marked on both sides. Besides from having the ford logo, they also have the Fel Pro logo. Fel Pro most likely makes these for Ford.
I came across the same thing but when I asked a friend that works at the local ford dealer, He said to just flip it over. I wasn't for certain that would work so I had him come over and do it so I could blame it on him if it doesn't work, But after endless dynos and track visits, Its been fine.
There seems to be a production issue with head gaskets, this might sound crazy but I drill the extra coolant holes into the head gaskets and have noticed a huge decrease of cylinder head temps!!
