I am in the process of assembling a set of heads, I recently got the exhaust side ported, I bought from a former co-worker that are from an 1986 5.0 T-Bird(E6SE's). One of my stock heads has a crack in it and that is the reason for this swap. I have done searches on this site as well as Jeg's and Summit Racing, under both a 94 GT, and as a "fox year" model search. But, all have not turned up enough information, or the information I did find told me a certain lifter or pushrod won't work. So, I need help/answers on what parts I will need. I know I need head gaskets, lifters, pushrods(going to use stock cam), valve covers, rockers shims and maybe rocker channels. What I am really after are what specific brands and models are going to work on this set-up. Our car's are hydraulic rollers right??? I am not a mechanic, have little mechanical knowledge, and have never gotten too deep into engines. I know/hope someone on this site has atleast some imput on this issue I am having.

You are going to run E6's? They have smaller valves and don't flow near what a E7 did. You should be getting a good port and polish done aswell as a valve upgrade to atleast E7 valves if not bigger. It probably would have been better to go get Explorer heads.

If I had my way I would get a whole top end kit, but funding for that does not exsist. I was thinking about just getting a REALLY good set of heads, but everyone says that is just pointless w/o cam and intake. The heads were only $50 and the port job was about $200(also got them acid dipped and new stock valve springs). All I do know is one of my heads is cracked, and I NEED to replace them. I am not made of money, and these heads are just gonna have to do.

Well they will work. Maybe down a little power then you are used to. Or maybe bang on with the little port work they had.

I planned on doing some gears eventually, so if i lose some power the gears should make up for it.

STOP... 200.00 for "Port work"? I should think that was Gasket match!! cool??
Hit the salvage yards.. pick up a set of GT40s off the explore/mountaineers... NOW have those worked, or get a set of PORTED E7s ( usually cheaper than all the work your looking at) Or get a set of stock E7s they will pull more power than the 86 heads you have now.. and then have them done.. the point being you are on a budget, yes!!?
Yard E7s are 50-100.00 Vjob/clean/surface is 195-225.00 Bolt them on and rock!!
More power and a little more money... GT40s off the explores!! More power.. Ported E7s !! More power Ported GT40s... more power aftermarket heads..
All the valve train IS interchangeable!! E6 to GT40 to E7s!!
Have fun!!
