HELP on horsepower in 347 stroker????

What is the most horse power you can get out of a 347 stroker in a carburated 5.0? I want to buy a kit this guy i know has and i want my car to have alot of horsepower!!!

AND what kind of horsepower am i looking at with a 347???

Power is gonna depend on everything else in your combo as well on how streetable you want the car to be. I wouldn't worry about the block unless you plan on some serious power. I have had my 347 for a year now (almost 8,000 miles) and it is my daily driver all year round except for the few days of snow we might get.

plenty of power to break everything that you bolt it to,including the stock block remember in your need for speed that cars with blown up transmissions, broken rear ends, and crappy gas miliage and make the owner sad hungry and homeless, a 347 with good heads will easily make 400 horse and nothing that comes from the factory will hold up to that very long, including a stock t-5, and the aod and stock posi will break instantly, at that power level you better have already upgraded of have a stack of cash for good posi unit 31 splines axels, and a beefy transmision, or all the horse power in the world will be useless

my car dynoed 322hp/343tq. THat was untuned running super rich. Yes I am still running a stock t-5 launching at 4000RPMS and slicks. no breakage yet, As for the power with a good tune I could easily see an additional 30+ hp etc.

i have already upgraded the tranny to a TKO 600 and the read is a 8.8 with 373 gears. from the motor back the car will handle 600+hp.

600+ your stock rear end will handle? Think again, I blew my rear posi out after 4 launches of the new found power, Can't say I was mad though!

its not a stock rear end. its only got around 5,000 miles on it.

you are going to need after market axles for the rear to handle 600+ ponies plus a better carrier. As far at the 347 goes it will make asmuch power as you want it to. A few years back there was a yellow mustang in MMFF that made 700+ rwhp it was over 800 at crank with a stock block. I always see guys post that the block will not handle more then 500 hp. well i also have only see 1 guy post that he blew up his block. so it all depends on how you drive the car after you put all that power in it.

A good main griddle and the HPS valley pro should hold up to 600 fwhp. A 347 making 600fwhp N/A, haven't seen one yet. I have seen EFI 347's making 420whp. Set it up for the street and it should get 360whp with a streetable tune. a stock block should hold that easily.
