HELP! Power seat, can't drive car

I don't know how I did this, but for some reason my power seat doesn't move, and my lumbar control doesn't work. I must have unpluged something. They both stoped working all at once. I looked under the seat, and nothing looks out of place. I moved the seat way up when cleaning the back seat, and must have messed something up, but can't figure it out. I can't get in the car becuase the seat is to far forward. Please help. I'm stuck at my parent's house, and gotta go home. Thanks guys.

Well, I am certainly no expert. But my car does this from time to time and it is caused by a fuse I think. Normally I just shake the fuse box and its fine. Check to see if the Cigarette lighter works or not, in my car (94), the cigarrette lighter and the power seat are on the same fuse. Good Luck!

Edit: This typically occurs when I "accidentaly" leave the position lever in one position for too long, its like the fuse pops and you just gotta pop it back in. Obviously not a technical answer, I am a rocket scientist, not a car guy....yet....

Extremetrek is onto something. WHile cleaning, could any change have fallen into the cig lighter receptacle? That'll blow the fuse.

If not, check the connectors under the seat to make sure they're all plugged in.

Lemme go check the cig lighter stuff. I thought the plugs were ok, but I'll check again...

my seat does the same thing everytime i move it all the way up. i grab the back of the seat and pull towards the back seat and have a someone press the switch, and it comes free and moves back. Not sure if your seat is just stuck foward or if there is a electrical problem but that is what fixes my seat. also i almost positive that the fuse for the powerseat is under the hood.

Extremetrec, do you remember which fuse is the powerseat/cig lighter? Both do not work. I poped the fuse box open, and they all seem to be in there. I'm gonna check 'em all, but if yoiu remember which fuse it is that would be awesome.

I'll try that but I think it's electrical since the cig lighter doesn't work. I'll check the fuses under the hood, I was looking in the wrong box. I was checkin the ones under the steering wheel...

Yep, it's under the hood.

Looking at it from in front of the car, it's on the bottom row. It's the 6th one from the left; 3rd one from the right. It will be a 20 amp.

EDIT: Also, the 2nd one from the left is a 20 amp that you can use for a temporary fix. It's for the horn & fogs, so if you use it for the seats and it blows, you won't be hurting too bad.

i wanted to make sure i was right about the fuse being under the hood, so i figured i would go out to my car and grab my manual to check. its 1:50am here in jersey and i am wearing nothing but a pair of boxers w/ hearts(not kidding). I didn't want to get changed just to grab it out of the car, and i never would of thought there would be anyone out side. when i got out side i seen my neighbor putting out his garbage and i froze and then just waved like it was normal to be prancing around in my boxers at 1:50 in the morning. it has dark so i don't think he seen much. not that there is much to see anyway.

ANYWAY, i checked its a small 20amp fuse, under the hood. from the way the diagram is drawn it looks like it is all the way to the left side of the fuse panel third spot from the bottom. below it should be an empty space unless you have a vert, and a 60amp for the abs, unless your car does not have abs.

Thanks a ton guys. I'm holding the toasted fuse (30 amp) in my hands now. I unplugged a 30 amp out from the fuse box under the steering wheel, plugged it in under the hood tempararily while I adjusted the seat, then put it back where it belongs. So now I can go get some fuses tomorrow whenever I have time.

Thanks a ton for checking for me dude. I wonder why there was a 30 amp fuse in there? I have an extra 20 amp as a spair in the fuse box under the steering wheel. I'm gonna go put the 20 amp in there right now.

my manual is for a 94 and your car is a 95 not that that makes a lot of difference. so maybe your car could of came with a 30 and mine with a 20

Thats weird though about. I'm the second owner of the car, so who knows.
