Help pulling engine.

Hi, Im pulling my 302 w/ c4 attached. Everything is off exept this (see pic) I think its the speedometer cable but Im not sure. It comes out about 1/2 inch when I pull but I cant get it out all the way. Anybody dealt with this?? Thanks!

It is seized in the tail shaft by rust or dirt.

DO NOT pull only by the cable or else you will ruin it.

Try to grab the large part that is against the tranny (about 1" circle) with a pair of channel locks and rotate it back and forth a few times. Then do the same while at the same time pulling it out. A little PB Blaster or WD40 might help.

It looks like you've already removed the bolt and hold-down, so all you have to do is pull. There will be a small plastic gear attached to it. You might try prying with a screwdriver.

thanks guys, I didnt think it would be anything complicated, but I wanted to make sure there wasnt something weird to do first (press gas, put in neutral, whatever.) I tried the screwdriver but, it would budge. It twisted a little, so Ill revisit that. Thank again!
