I am picking up my 351W tommorow morning and i have an engine stand im going to mount it on. Its the standup type stand that you can turn the motor over on. I need to know what size bolts and how many am i going to need to attacth the motor to the stand. 4 bolts im guessing cause there are 4 mounting points on the stand. Do they thread into the block or do i need nuts as well? It has been a while since i had a motor on a stand. thanks aot guys.

Not sure on the size of the bolts...does the guy not have any mounting bolts? I would thread them into the block.

Use 7/16" threaded rod from Ace Hardware, Home Depot or Lowes to screw into the back of the block. Use the 7/16" coarse thread nuts and cut the threaded rod to fit. Cheap and works good too.

7/16" is correct, old head bolts work great! you need 4" bolts if I remember correctly...

I worry about the strength of threaded rod....

I used my actual bellhousing->block bolts on my 302 stand.....I think they are pretty strong. Support the engine when not actually turning it with a scissors jack in the front so you dont stress the bolts and you should be good.
