trying to get my stock exhaust off do i have to cut it off? or can i remove it without cutting

2003 gt its off but we can get it over axel its cat backs

You have to learn how to speak english and make a sentence before we can help you.

But if you telling me that the only problem you have is you cant get it over the axle, then just go rent some tailpipe cutters from autozone, and cut it in 1/2

if it's your cat-back then yes you do have to cut it

You need to cut it just behind the muffler. Some people say it the hardest part of the install but I thought it was easy as hell. Getting the new exhaust to line up just right is the hard part. At least it was on mine anyway.

yeah i cut it off but now i cant get new exhaust on i think im just going to take it in or if u have any tips on how to get it on that would help

No no no don't take it to a shop. It will go over the axle. You just have to figure out the right way to turn it. What kind of exhaust are you putting on?

it is a borla cat back.

Well from the looks of those borla CBs, they should be easier to get over the axle than my magnaflows were. Keep trying, you'll get it. Like it said you have to turn it just right to get it over the axle.

Dumb question but it has to be asked - you do have the car supported by the body so that the rear axel hangs down right? If so, you should be able to get the new pipes in there. The drivers side is easier than the passenger side for what its worth. I had to force the passenger side a little bit to get it on.

Right. This whole procedure is best done on a lift. A midpipe replacement you could do with just ramps or jackstands, but the cat-back (I've found) is easiest when the car is suspended for maximum clearance.

If you don't have jack stands or a lift, you can just use your spare tire jack. That's what I did. I just jacked up one side, did the exhaust on that side, then jacked up the other and did it. Just make sure you get the jack good and secure. Do it on a flat, level service. I know a guy who almost got killed because they used their spare tire jack on a gravel driveway. He was lucky, the jack kicked out from under the car while he was taking a beer break.
