HELP Serious Clutch problem!!!!

Ok, So last night I get in my car to leave the party, when I start to leave my car is making this god awful sound that sounds like one of this big metal fans that are in warehouses, it is making that kind of squeak. If i push the clutch in, it stops, so i started driving at speed and it is still making, but not as bad, but if i play around and put a little bit of pressure on the clutch the thing gets a nasty sounding whine that I can adjust the pitch with by how much pressure i put on the pedal. This does not exactly seem to fit the the symptoms I have heard go along with a Throw out bearing, so if anyone has any clue what this might be please tell me, because it sounds like ****! and it is probably something very bad.

It could still be the TOB (what it sounds like to me) but perhaps combined with an eaten bearing retainer.

Good luck.

It's most definitely in your clutch assembly, either your throw out bearing (which what you are describing is exactly what happened when the one in my old '87 shredded, literally), your pilot bearing, or your input shaft bearings could be culprits.

I took it to my local mechanic who is a good buddy of ours, and of course, when we take it out to listen to the noise, the damn car wont make it. Im thinking it only does this when the motor is cold then, but then again i heard it last night after i had been going for a while and the motor was warm. but since it wouldnt make the noise when we were driving it, there is nothing he can do for me. Is there a reason why it would not make the noise if it is the TOB?

Well, when metal is warmer, it has less friction than when it is cold due to expansion. But I have had trouble with throw out bearings producing intermittent noise in the past.
