Having a hard time getting the tranny out of my 2000 mustang GT. I have waiting a 2003 Lincoln Aviator motor to drop in. I have removed all bolts that mount tranny to engine but it still will not come out?
is it an auto??if so u have torque converter bolts.. and 5 speed then u have to pull it towards the back of the car and then it should come out..also check between the motor and the tanny there might be a dust sheild thing on it holding u up
it is a 5 spd and yes there is a dust shield. ill remove that first thing tomorrow morning and see what that does. thanks. but, i have been pulling the hell out of it to the rear, and prying it apart but still just doesnt want to come out.
I removed everything on mine and it was hard as hell to pull out..Just try to pry and have someone pulling on the tranny. Very time consuming and frustrating.
How many bolts did you remove? I had 7...5 you can see and two at the top you can't unless you look from the enging bay. Also the starter had to come out on mine.

check all the bolts to the splash shield. i missed one on the driver's side. in between the two lowest engine / bellhousing bolts. tugging to no avail.
