Hey, I have a 96GT, and recently the steering has been squeaking like crazy. When you are sitting and hold the steering in a certain direction, it doesn't continue to squeak, only when the wheels are actually moving. I'm pretty novice when it comes to working on cars, but I figure it can't be something too complicated (might be wrong). I checked the power steering fluid, and aside from being dark brown (Dunno what its supposed to look like), it was full. Any ideas? Its a pretty annoying squeak, even when i go over bumpy roads and the steering moves it will start up. Thanks for any info.
Chris

I think the obvious and cheapest answer to this question is longtube headers.

Whaaa...? Longtube headers=pain in the ass install=short x or h pipe=mil eliminators=SES light comes on no matter what you do=more hassle than its worth...

catbacks the answer to any exhaust upgrade unless you are really into racing and have loads of ca$h

Plus what does that have to do with squeaky steering...?

Are they easy to replace, or is it worth going to a mechanic for?

I have the same problem. I was going to grease everything up and start replacing any bushings that turn when the wheels are. And maybe a bumpsteer kit because they replace the tierod ends on both sides.

Or maybe some 4.10's will fix it.
