I drive a '99 Mustang, 6-cyl, automatic transmission.
Other night I was driving home from the hospital ( tore a muscle in my right shoulder ), and I ran over a piece of metal or something on the highway - I pulled over immediately, turned the emergency lights on, and ran back to find what I had hit ( cause I heard it hit underneath the car ). I found it, was one of those metal cross-section things, I threw it off the side of the road ( so no one else would hit it ), inspected my tires ( they were fine ), and headed on. Got home, grabbed the flashlight, inspected again the tires, the body, and as much under the car as I could, to my knowledge nothing was damaged or messed up.
Yesterday I got in it to run over to the store, and it felt like it was lagging when I'd shift from reverse to drive. I made a mental note to get ahold of my boy Chris about it when he gets back into town, and went on my way.
This morning, Id' shift into reverse, press the gass, the engine would rev, but no go.....it'd finally lurch forward a bit ( engine still revving normally ), but still not much. Same thing in drive. WTF?
Any ideas what is wrong with my trans? I'm so broke right now so I can't fix it if it's serious.
