Cams are expensive, $1000 is about right for the install. You are going to need a dyno tune also.

About how long should it take to do a cam instal on a 4.6? Ive done cams, rockers, heads on a 5.0. obviously i know they are not anything close to being similar, but i have had my hands dirty more then i can count.

2 days of do it myself while i bum rides or take a cab is better than shelling out $1K

I live near redondo beach california. I got another quote from a shop $700. How hard is the install? I've never done any internal work on my car. How much does a dyno tune run for? anyone know? Thanks for the help
