ok so i drive to the train station this morning and im there a little bit early, so i park the car shut it off and listen to some music. Im sitting in the car and i see very faint white smoke or steam coming out from the grille. I open the hood and I hear this squirting noise and see a little bit of coolant puddled up on top of the water pump. and thats the are where the smoke/steam was coming from. Should I just change the water pump as i do have 104K miles? Theres a thread on here about the bypass hose, should i just get a new hose? Thanks

Just be patient. Take your time. Let the car cool off, then start it and watch the hoses closely to see where the coolant is leaking from. If it is a hose or water pump, they are pretty reasonable. A new Ford pump is about 50 bucks. Not too bad for 104K.

Keep us posted on where the coolant is coming from......

ok i was feeling around to see if any of the hoses were leaking and it turns out that there was a little hole in the bypass hose. Its fixed now so im happy. Loudtoy, i went to the ford dealership and they siad a new pump was like 80 bucks or something. where can i find one for $50? Thanks

Autozone should have it.

You should replace all your hoses if you haven't done so already. Also inspect your serp belt and see how it looks. Bend it backwards, and see if it's all cracked.
