Help: Will a 2004-2006 GT 8.8 fit on my 67?

Guys, I need your help ASAP.

My 8 inch rear end is going to die shortly due to the brute force of my 393w.........


I can get a brand new 8.8" posi rear out of a late modle GT (2004-2006 style).

Anyone here know how wide those 8.8's are, and if they have the same 5x4 1/2 " bolt pattern??????

I know I will have to cut off hangers and fab new perches, but OI am hoping it can be done cheap and easy.:SNSign:

yes they have the same bolt patter. you need to worry about width tho. what backspacing do your rims have?

I am running aftermarket repos of Magnum 500's 15x7, I do think they are 4 1/2 " backspacing.

The rear end is a new take off so I think it is from 2005 to 2007.........part # is: FR3Z401BA

if it helps I have an 84 lincoln 8.8 in my 66 with rear disk

Did the 84 lincon fit or did you have it narrowed?

I know the 66 is narrower than the 67 body.

it fits without narrowing, but I will probably have to get some wheels with a slightly different offset, I have wheels of unknown origin on there now and they stick out about 1/2 inch to an inch too far...no big deal if I can figure out the offset

the fox body year 8.8s should be a perfect fit for you...the 99+ are about 3" wider than fox....
