help with 5 lug conversion and more

ok i have a late model 5 lug cougar rearend with disks and a lincoln with
disks and all of the front hardware spindles discs calipers
I am also parting out 2 1989 5.0's

what do I need to do to make this work??

Im assuming the late model Cougar 5 lug rear is a Fox body rear like out of a XR7 turbo which IIRC is same as Turbo coupe rear.

The main problem is we dont know the offset of the rims in question.

Im a bit confused as well. If the rear was like a TC rear it would be 4lug. Didnt know any cougers came with 5 lug and disc brake. For the front, I imagine the easiest thing to do would be to use spindles off one of the 5.0 stangs and run the lincoln rotors and 73mm calipers as well. Dont know if the dustcaps will clear those wheels or not though.

edit: I just saw that the rims you want are 10.5 in the rear. I would be aware that you will almost certainly have clearance issues there on a fox body. And if your rear is the same width sa an XR7 ot TC, it is 1.5" wider than a mustang rear and will reall give you some serious issues with those rims.

I'd almost bet it''s a rear out of a post-Fox Cougar. The same body style as the T-Bird Super Coupe.

yeah, far as I know, there wasn't a 5lug fox body cougar. That cougar rear end is likely from the newer one, which is not going to work on your fox.

the post fox body cougars were also indpendent suspenions best be would to ust the lincoln rear brakes with ranger axles with the adapter brakets wich i cant rember at the moment who on here sells them

There was one more generation of Cougars after the Fox years that still had the solid rear axle. It was the last generation that followed the T-Bird line. The little Cougars that followed that were IRS if I remember right.
