i have a 2001 GT 5 speed.. when i bought the car it came with magnaflow mufflers welded on.. i was going to get a catback (SLP) exhaust... so heres the problem.. i'm debating whether to get an x pipe first or go with the cat back first.. bang of the buck situation.. any advice would be great.. i'm planning on going with the SLP Catted X..also how well will it sound.. and loudness as well thanks again everyone..

The X pipe will give you more top end HP but you may lose bottom end torque. The Catback will give you zero HP/TQ gains but will sound fantastic!

Bang for the buck is Xpipe hands down, but the catback will suddenly become a restriction it wasnt once was. Best bet is doing both, but thats not an option given

It's too bad it didn't come with the magnapacks, then you would only have to buy the mid pipe. I've never actually heard just the weld in's I'd go mid pipe for sure first though.

If emissions is not a problem, I would go with the UPR O/R. Nice sound and power $139 brand new. The Dr.Gas O/R sounds awesome too.

Dr. Gas sounds awesome and produces great gains, but install cost is a lot more than a standard xpipe. The Dr.Gas has to be welded together, so add that to the basic install cost as well. I would suggest the mustangtuning.com o/rxpipe. Had mine for 3 years now with zero problems. sounds AMAZING and there were no fitment issues what so ever with it

I'd go with the midpipe first tho.. his setup as loud as hell tho sounded good..

yea i think i've talked to him about the SLP LM1 which i'm going to get.. cuz the magnaflows are pretty smooth up until WOT.. then they are loud.. but i want something thats unqiue.. since no one in san jose, california has SLP.. thanks again guys.. so i think i'm going to go with the catted SLP X pipe..

x-pipe hands down. you already have mufflers so so once the stock midepipe comes off you will be amazed. no catback sounds great with the stock midepipe.

after the midpipe you may be happy depending on your tastes. if you buy a catback without the midpipe there is no way you will be happy unless you like a quite car.

get the X-pipe first then save up for a catback i personally love my bassani X-pipe

they mean the BBK GT tuned length headers they are like equal length shortie headers unless im wrong then someone would correct me
