help with a fuel pump install

has any body here ever have any issue when puting the fuel pump housing in for some reason i cant get it to set in place any help thanks

What is the problem? Does the pump assembly not go far enough down? You have to kind of snake it down there, teh same way it came out.

i been trying that no luck its like 1/2in to tall. i know you got to play with it a little but it just dont want to go in is there a trick to do it lol i done it before and it just like drop in

Make sure the sock is facing the right way. it should be with the longer end torwards the front of the car. You have to rotate it as you put it in. Once you get it in there is a notch on the bottom of the ring at the top, make sure it goes into the notched out part on the tank. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't sitting flush, until I saw that, lol

well i still cant get the fuel pump housing to sit flat its been a day and a few house im getting ready to sell i need a car im so pissed because its like a fing project that shold take a hour to do well any body has like a how to on this thanks

Do like BlackFox5.0 said with the sock facing the front of the car when it is in. You do have to fish it in and then turn it to the front once you get the sock and pump past the lip of the tank. Also you can look in the side of the tank with a flashlight where the filler neck goes in to help you guide it into place. Assuming it was installed in the housing correctly.

i can get it in but it wont sit flat on the top its like slanted with out the strainer on it flush but when i put the strainer on it slanted on the top is there like a trick to do it

Just make sure when you put the strainer on it is facing the right direction and make sure it is pushed all the way down on the pump. It sounds like you may be putting it in backwards. Or you may be putting the pump in backwards. Did you try turning it around 180 Degrees and putting it in? Did you make sure the sock is facing the front of the car when installed? I know sometimes it seems a little tricky but just be patient and it will work.
