Hello All its spring and in canada its warming up finally... I took the 1967 stang out of storage and did my routine check and noticed bad bal joints (lower).
I replace my lower control arms and also upgraded to a 1 inch sway up front.

I placed the car down and noticed my wheels are pigion toed (i think its alot of negative camber). How do I adust this - camber at least to have it driveable to the shop. Uppers were not touched as the ball joints where done last year.
I have read other forms but cant find any info on how to adjust this

Any help would be great
thanks Mario

Have you moved the car yet? The suspension might not have settled after being in the car so long.

Also, are the tires tilted in at the top, or are the front of the tires closer to each other than the rears are? Just trying to see if the toe was off instead of the camber.

The tires look like this

/ / \ \ so i think the lower LCA is pushing the bottom of the sindle out alittle to far.

I drove the car up the road and no change its hard to drive special when turning...

thanks for the reply so far

Loosen the nut on the inside bolt of the lower arm, then use a socket to twist the bolt. The oblong washer will force the pivot point towards the center of the car. Half way of the adjustment is a good starting point. Sounds like you have it adjusted to the far outside.

From his description, I think 2bav8 is correct, he has a toe in issue not a camber issue. I think the solution is a combination of tie rod/strut rod adjustment.

How do I adjust the toe issue that I have? Is done with the tie rods or the strut rod adjustments.
I seem to have feathering on the midle to inside of the tires. I am going to take a mesurment from the front of the tire and the rear and compare and see how far I am out. but i need to know how to adjust

thanks again
Mario

Just to make sure:

Does // \\ mean that the tires look like that when viewing the car from the front (too much negative camber) or from above (too much toe in) ?

Negative camber is adjusted by turning the LCA-to-chassis bolt and excentric and toe by turning the tie rod adjustment sleeves.

If both are off, then first set the camber untill the wheels are perpendicular to the pavement and then continue with adjusting the tie rods so that wheels point straight ahead. Of course, that will not result in an accurate alignment, but you can actually get it reasonable close (if you're not severely cross eyed :) )

Close enough to drive it to the alignment shop anyway.

Negative camber is adjusted by turning the LCA-to-chassis bolt and excentric and toe by turning the tie rod adjustment sleeves. I have since adjusted my camber.
