"damn volvo's!" Yeah - I get that a lot; usually as they finally catch up at the next light....

michael yount - for the longest time I've heard your trash the E cam.. yes we know it didnt work well for your setup and its an old outdated cam.. but just give it a break.. its better then a stock cam in that combo regardless.. its like the E cam is having an affair with your wife or something..

just me

relax there 2841 --- the E, like any other stick, is just a cam. There's nothing right or wrong with it -- but it works better with some combos than with others. Having said that -- there are usually better choices available provided you're willing to spend the money. Besides -- re-read the post; I never trashed the E -- I simply stated what my experience has been. And I think I was pretty clear that trying to compare these things on different combos is a waste of time. Besides all that -- if you think so highly of that cam, feel free to add one to your combo. They're for sale used ALL THE TIME. Have you ever wondered why?

As for this statement - "its better then a stock cam in that combo regardless.." - well, that's simply not always true. It all depends on what you're trying to accomplish with the combo. Re-read the posters desires regarding gas mileage and CA emissions -- I'll stand by my post. I think the stocker is a better choice for what he's trying to obtain.

edit - btw - I just checked, and the wife informs me she definitely isn't having an affair with the E cam - something about it not having enough lift or duration.

alright I came off wrong... I personally do not like the cam.. it will not go into any of my cars.. and I did not read the post w/ passing emissions..

its a dog downlow.. I've driven many cars with it, but I do believe that it would make more power and the car would beneift with it rather then having a stock cam ... but with the need to pass emissions I dont see it being a good idea throwing it in there..

pass smog = no
better/same gas mileage = no
same power downlow = no
more power & quicker at track = yes

if it were me in this situation I would throw in the steeda cam..

It's not that bad guys!. If you advance it 4 degrees it will have killer low end. mine will pin you in the seat and hold you there. Yes, my mileage did come down mainly because I have my foot in it more and at 2200 cruise rpm it's not as happy or efficient as the stocker, but way better than the b-303 in a situation like this for street use.
