Ok, I feel soo stupid right now, I always hear how easy it is to install a catback, so I attempt to do it with my limited tools. I recieved my borla catback today, and got the stock catback off, but for the life of me I cant figure out how to get the muffler sections over the axel. I dont have enough clearance with my ramps, please tell me there is a trick to this so I dont have to pay someone to do it...

You will need to take the load of of the back springs and allow the axels to drop. I had the same problem with mine. If you jack up the rear end (instead of using ramps) the axel should drop just enough for you to work the pipes over.

Is there a spot where I can jack up the body from the axel while on the ramps? Oh, and I got pulled over last night while joyriding, cop said that he thought I took a right turn too wide, thought I was drinking, but I wasn't, first night off in a while haha. But he knew my dad, so off I was...

There's a spot I always put my jackstands, that's right in front of the rear tires, and inward a little. It's where the subframe widens, and there's a plate with a hole in it. Hard to describe, but if you take a look down there, you'll be able to identify the most structurally sound area to put a stand.

When I did my catback, I lowered the car off of the jackstands and back on to the ground to take the load off of the rear. Then I used the jacking points (the ones you would use for changing a tire) right in front of the rear wheels, under the car, right below the side skirts. I jacked each side up - one at a time, crawled under on the creeper and slid the mufflers over the axles no problem. Same method I used to take off my Magnaflow catback.

If you need a little bit more room, you can unbolt the shocks and drop the rear end a tiny bit more.

When i did my cat-back. I didn't even need to do this. What i did was back the car on ramps, and then use a jack to lift the vody on the side i was working on. This gave me enough room to get the tailpipes in

Thanks for the help guys, used a jack on the frame and barely got the pipes over the axel. It sounds perfect, I just fell in love all over again with my car!! It was exactly what I wanted.

After reading this thread I must ask: Did you have to cut the stock cat-back off and weld on your new Borla? I am putting mine on next weekend and was wondering.

I would say all you need to di is unbolt the catback and bolt the new one on. Probably to the flow tubes

The stock cat-back needs to be cut off. It's welded and the only way to get it out in 1 peice is to unbolt the shocks, quads and rear brake lines and lower the rear end WAAAAY down
