I have a 88 302 it had a fuel injected dist. so I bought a new one from autozone and it has a plug with a black wire, black wire with red stripe and purple with black stripe. Which wire is what? Also what is the firing order for this motor? I think it is a older motor not sure though. thanks in advance

You have the wrong distributor. The 86-93 distributors mount the TFI module directly on the distributor. There is no pigtail connector on the distributor to connect to the TFI module.

Your first post says EFI distributor and there are no clues in your first post that you are working on a carb car. If you include enough information about what you are working on, it reduces the number of useless answers you get.

You'll have the non HO firing order (older one), and you will need to do alot of custom wiring to get rid of the dizzy setup you have now. Like I said in your other thread, get a duraspark ignition box, dizzy, and while your at it a coil for a 1985 Mustang 5.0 (4 barrel I think, not the CFI one when Autozone asks) There is a website somewhere that shows you how to wire your car, which I am sure someone else can lead you too, as I can't remember where it is at the moment.
