Help with Headers please

what is the best headers and brand for my 04 gt 5spd and how much do they normally cost to buy and install

long tubes, but everything depends on what you want AND how much you really want to spend for it. installing is a hefty price cause insists on removing the K member.

When i went to get some headers they told me it will be about 600 to 800 bucks to install you have to jack up the engine to install the new headers. If you are looking for some thing that sounds sweet get some mufflers and a H pipe. the long tubes are really expensive and the price for installing you could put that tword a blower. Not to say they would not sound nice and give you some good hp but if you have little to spend for get it.

Can they not be installed by yourself? I would think that would save a bunch of money there. Or getting a friend to help or something. The only thing I would ever let a shop do is alignment, paint, or dyno tuning. Just cheaper that way. Your money though.....

I have a hard time believing that just by looking at the Bassani's collector, it just looks restrictive, not smooth at all and it reduces in size way too much.

I'd say Hookers, Flowtechs, Jet Hots or SLP's should easily make the most power.

i've put lt's on two different mustangs & both have been lowered (1.5"). I have never hit my headers on anything on either car. but whenever i go to put headers on my 05, whenever i decide to trade mine, it will be between mac ceramic coated lt's (for power) or the basanni midlengths (for convienience). knowing me i'll prolly go the lt route again though

Its a quality issue too. Not just hp. Take a look at bassanis headers after a few years - they look the same. Some X brands are beat up after a few hundred miles. you gotta love those mig welded brand x headers comin off an assembly line & then maybe youll appreciate quality - qoute my orange gt - what are the best headers for an o4 gt or are we talkin about an 87 5.0

I just had mac lt headers and a mac catted h pipe put on, it sounds awesome !!(I have magnaflow catback), anyway, I had to have a new engine put in by ford so I had the tech install the lt's and h pipe at the same time, it was still $560.00 in labor.

MAC, I go for performance.

I bought Hooker LT headers ($700) and o/r x-pipe ($140). It cost another $800 for installation. You can do it yourself but it is a real pita. I gained 23 rwhp from this combination. By far, the best mod to date.

what coating do you have on it, do you have the basic hts coating or the "ceramac" coating, i want to get bbk's but they are a bit too pricey.
