help with install

so i'm outside trying to install a mac cat-back on the cobra and it all seems pretty simple, just unbolt the old one and slide it off of the rubber hangers. but i can not for the life of me get those rubber things off! the hangers that go through them have a little cap on the end so the rubber things cant just slide off. how did you guys get those things off?

I had a sawz-all and just cut the caps off. I wasn't going to re-install the factory stuff so it didn't matter. Dish soap, like was mentioned, should do the trick.

If I bought a Mac Hpipe for my Auto stang..would it fit and bolt in directly in place or the stock hpipe? I was wondering if a prochamber would too.I want to do exhaust myself..and LTs soon...every1 has said only basic tools yet a load of time:rolleyes:

i got the old stuff by sawz-alling the caps on the end of the hangers that are attached to the stock pipes. but now i cant get the new hangers to go into those same rubber mounts. and another question, what kinda tool do i need to get to the bolt that attaches the stock h pipe to the headers? i cant get any of my wrenches to fit up there and be able to turn to take off the stock h. exhaust work is so frustrating because its so much more time consuming and tedious than it should be.

I must have gotten lucky when I did my exhaust, the rubber things cam off with only a minute or two of abuse. The first thing I did after jacking up the car was spray wd-40 on everything, every bolt, nut, rubber thing, you name it it was lubed. Let the WD-40 do its magic for 10 minutes or so then get some thick welding gloves or equivelent and use all your force and they'll come right off. You might want to get a buddy to help you pull the rubber the other way, although it can be done by your self.

well i got it all on today and i'm not sure if my tips stick out more than they are supposed to cuz they come out of the cut-outs like 4 inches. it actually looks really cool. but the sound is so much more than i was expecting! its such a low rumbly sound its not at all like the flows i have on my v6 tacoma. its sounds just plain mean.

So did the Mac Hpipe bolt right into place of the stock hpipe? I welded in super 40s and was looking to put on a hpipe of some sort..and Ive heard mac produces a nice low rumble..and how much you pay for it? any1 else know if you can do Mac hpipe n the Mac Lts?

Yeah i remember those. Can't remember, but i'm pretty sure I just used a grinder on the heads and they slid right off after that :D
