Help with lower intake ASAP!!

hey guys im trying to take out my stock lower intake to put the cobra one on, but the coolant lines that run into the heater core wont budge. The eblow where it screws into the lower intake seems stuck. Any tips on how to get it out? I have a pic attached that i found on the net that helps illustrate my problem. Thanks for any input!

soak it down with some wd-40, and remember...lefty loosey, righty tighty.

its been soaking for a while. It turned for a little, but then stopped, Im positive that im taking it out, and not screwing it in, does the nut just turn inside the elbow, thus allowing the threaded part on the bottom to spin?

you can take the lines off at the firewall, then take the whole thing off. May give you some more room/leverage to fiddle with it later. like said before, soak it with some type of penetrating oil, then wrench away. I think they're tight because of thread sealer used on em, but keep going, it'll come off. what kinda tool are you using to attack it...find some kind of extenision for it, more leverage...

Just disconnect the heater hoses that they connect to, and leave it connected to the intake. No need to take it off if you don't need to.

I do need to, as it needs to be reinstalled onto the new one.

I agree with Hef....The Red thread sealer dries like concrete and makes that a tough one....just remember it works like a normal nut to loosen it....
WD40 or the like wont touch that factory sealer....wait til you have to clean up the threads, youll see what I mean...makes sure you clean it and use new sealant...I wouldn't trust whats on there once its removed....its rock hard...

I left mine on the lower intake, pulled the lower intake with that thing still attached. Then I had a real clean shot at unscrewing it.

The only problem with unscrewing it once the intake is off the engine is that you need to secure (hold) the lower intake some way, as it still takes a lot of force to get it off.

i had to have my brother stand on mine so it would not move. much easier when off the car.

Have you tried any heat? usually helps with things that are thread locked or thread gooped (thread sealant).

I got her off, . it put up a fight though, let me tell you, it took 3 guys to get it off. The car has been put back together and runs! Ill post a new topic on wed after my tune and let everyone know my dyno numbers!
