Help with my shifter

Ok, my car has stock t5 transmission with a hurst shifter. Here lately, i can put it in gear and i can like move the shifter back and forth while its in gear and it has alot of slop. What can i do to fix this. It is really hard to hit gears and stuff cause it feels like the shifter is loose. While it is in 3rd gear i can move the shifter aroudn like its in nuetral but im movin down the road in 3rd. HELP!!!

have you removed the boot to see if shifter bolts are loose....some shifters have adjustment bolts...

The bolts that attach the shifter to the handle are likely loose. Just need to be tightened some. I put blue loctite on mine.

well, i took the upper boot off and didnt see nothing wrong. I can move the shifter from left to right and everythign. Lots of slop. Do u think the stock shifter might fix it or is it in the tranny.

on way to find out...do you have the stock shifter???

yes i have it, but if someone thinks its internal, no use in changin it out. I guess i will change it out tomorrow, man will i miss the hurst. Could this be the shift forks loosened up or something. How would u fix that.
