parts of the wheels on this 68 coupe are rusting and im not sure what to do. the part that is rusting is like an egg/oval shape behind the lugnut. please tell me what you think. can you take off the peice behind the lugnut and buy a new one or are they just for looks.
You could try a product called Jasco sold at both your "home improvement" stores. Its a sort of prep primer works very well leaves a white film after its done then u can just wipe it off and it should protect those areas from rusting for a while
1500 grit sand paper soaked in dish soap and water will take that off, just be careful. If you can find 2000 grit, use that. you can also try some polishing compound.
Those look like UniLug wheels. You can buy new spacers for cheap, and just throw some rattle can clear coat on them to keep any rust off of them. Mine are the same way, except your chrome wheels are alot better looking than my TT D's.
