Help With Take-off

thanks for the advice. i'll try that next time, i just usually get too caught up trying to beat that damn camaro that i forget about all of that stuff and basically go stupid when it comes to driving right.. but i'll learn

Man with ur mods dont worry about her, i beat this same dude over and over again in his 96 or 97 WS6 Trans Am ive pulled him spinning like hell u get ur launches good and u will own most lt-1s not unless the have the lt4 kit or something or some cams and ****, i know the guy that tries to beat me has some mods but im not sure what all he has, i think a chip or programmer catback, cai, think the best hes run is maybe a high 8.7 or low 8.8s in the eigth but then again im running 8.6s all day

one other thing to add.. with me driving my car, i can only get it to do a 12.0 in the 1000 ft, but with my buddy driving it he can get it to do an 11.55.. but if we get traction, i know it'll do all of an 11.3.. but that's only a 1000 ft, since we dont have a 1/4 track around here. so if i can get the hang of this car, i'll be able to do a lot better

Hey, please dont take this the wrong way and there is nothing personal, but you just cant drive...Im sure you know this LOL, but im serious here...your car should prolly be faster mine...I run 11.342 in the 1000ft W/ 1.90 60ft(13.58 1/4). Im not trying to be rude or anything, but one run i killed the tires and pulled a 2.59 60ft and ran a 12.26 1000ft (14.51 1/4). You really need to practice driving the car, shift at 5800RPMs, and launch at 3Kish slipping the clutch, worked for me W/ 3200RPM launch. Stockish i ran a 12.1030 1000ft 2.24 60ft (14.4391 1/4). Your running about 14.2s, your friend is running 13.79-13.81 in the 1/4, the reason i know is because I had run a 11.54 1000ft with a 2.10 60ft before the chip and gears with some DRs...13.78 1/4 @ 100.76. Your friend is doing pretty good, for it not being his car...all you need is some practice, and again NO offence im just trying to help. PM me if you have any Qs about anything.

no offense taken at all.. i'll admit all day long that i cant drive, there's nothing wrong with it since it's my first 5-speed and i've only had it for 2 months.. everyone, including the guy who ran it for me, has told me that it should pull at least a 1.9 60 ft, if not a 1.8.. and an 11.3 1000 ft.. i've just been tryin to get the feel of the car and where the power is and how i need to shift b4 i really tear into the whole racing scene.. i just mainly play around with other cars like once or twice a week. my friend who ran the 11.55 1000ft shifted at 5,000 rpm everytime, so i figure if he had drug it out further it would've been a bit faster, but he said since it's not his car he didnt wanna push it that hard..

But yah, no offense taken man, i appreciate the advice and everything. i am always up for a good tip or suggestion. I just admit that i dont know how to drive because i dont wanna be like those stupid asses who think they can drive so awesome, but in reality they suck balls. I suck at driving right now, and there's nothing wrong with it to me. I'm 18, new to the 5-spd, new to the V8 mustangs, and i'm still trying to get the hang of the car.. but thanks tho :D

well, the LS1's dont really run all that much faster than me, BUT they're still faster. So, don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say i'm just as fast as an LS1, I'm not at all. I havent raced one yet, but based on their times out at the track, most of them are only 2-4 tenths faster (which is still a nice bit faster) but it's nothing THAT bad.
